Every year around the same time in early October begins ladybug season. Ladybugs flock from whatever magical place they were before and bless us with their presence. Or perhaps, they were simply born - the time between fall and winter existing as their time to shine. They land on windows, on walls outside buildings, all over the cracks and creaks. They get themselves inside somehow, finding their way into closets and corners and kitchens. Everywhere you look are ladybugs. It’s short lived, and some only exist as carcasses, their beautiful shells void of life, but somehow there’s magic in that, too. I love this time and I love the ladies. They’ve always been a good omen that I am in fact, going the right way. 🐞
